Just purchased a 1987 K5 from an old childhood friend. It's going to take a lot of time and effort (read money) to transform this thing to somewhat resemble its former self. The body and frame are solid, the mechanics are in great shape, and it is in driving condition as it is, so I'll take it as a "win". I've always been a blue oval guy but have loved my Silverado 2500HD so much, I may very well become a full-fledged convert. I look forward to monitoring this forum for technical guidance, advise, and inspiration for what will undoubtedly be a long process.
