So... I am looking for some information from the group. I am in the middle of bring back the 84 k10 i drove when i was young. Due to the age and condition of the grill, i am going to replace it. In addition, while i'm looking at this i noticed the headlights are only a single 5x7 not 2 4x6 lights like my 84 C10. I know that the K10 had some body work done on the truck in the mid 80's and i don't know if the headlight assembly was originally 5x7 lights or the two 4x6 lights. Maybe both options were available and the 5x7 weren't as common. The blue is the single headlight/dual beam, the other is the 84 c10 with two 4x6's. This is the pic i took when switching from old lights to the LEDs.

my guess is the 5x7 is OEM and dual beam single lights, but just want to make sure.

Any guidance or direction is much appreciated.

'trim' level option.

my '85 k20 super double xtra heavy duty has single headlights.

it's a custom deluxe level trim.
the base level :)

k trucks can certainly have dual headlights depending on the trim level it left the factory with.

good luck!

that is what i was thinking and realized after i sent this. thanks for the quick reply! Where i was struggling was both trucks are the Scottsdale models. The C10 was purchased as a parts truck but after getting it home realized it was too nice for a parts truck...now i have two trucks:rockit:

If you look at the tag in the glove box here's a couple of RPO codes to look for.
YE9 = Silverado Package
V22 = Chrome Grill

I know my '85 only lists YE9, but the V22 chrome grill is included in that package. I believe the V22 chrome grill (4 headlights) was an option for lower model trucks. Of the 8 Squares I've had over the years, all were Silverados, so I'm not sure if that's totally correct. Maybe someone else can chime in.

These guys are correct, it just depends on the trim level of the truck/what options were chosen when ordered. 5x7s and 4x6s were options. As a side note, if you're wanting to upgrade the lights and like modern HID/LED lights, check out RMS Lighting on Facebook. I just ordered a kit from him for my '85. His name is Hector, super nice guy, very responsive, reasonable prices and fast shipping. Haven't installed it yet but everyone online highly recommends his kits.

I have a '87 Silverado with the 4 headlights. Can I switch to the 5x7 and move the turn signal light without much trouble?

Thx for the info, just bought a set myself! Great deal and Hector was super helpful. You get yours installed?

This is correct.

V22 is included with YE9 (in English: quad headlights come with Silverado).

For Scottsdale Z62 you can opt up and add V22 if you want.

V22 not available with Custom Deluxe.

Yep, had 'em in for a couple months now. The low beams are fantastic, I'm still trying to figure out the highs. Granted, I've only installed them and then tinkered with them one other time, so I really haven't spend much time on them. But so far, I can't get the highs to throw very far. I'm gonna try turning the bulb another way within the housing and see what that does.

I like 'em cuz they're glass and look stock. Like I said, I'm still trying to figure out the high beams but light output on low is 100x better

Maybe I got confused. Are these LEDS or glass housings with the removable bulb?
