Thought I'd share this as it might help someone out that encounters a similar issue.
I have the 21 gallon HF air compressor, have never really given me any issues in the near 4 years of abuse I have put it through with doing all of the work on my 76, painting shutters and front door, lots of brad nails, and my 79. Just the other day it stopped compressing, the motor was still running and nothing ejected itself from the crankcase so I pulled the head off and that one of the reed valves had broken in half. Bought a cheap set of feeler gauges and used the matching thickness one to the valve and made a new one using the 0.010 gauge. So far it is working just as it did before.
Hopefully this might help someone get their compressor back online and $5.00 for a set of feeler gauges is lighter on the pocket book than a new compressor.
