Hello from VA! Pictures above of my horrible financial decision, I payed $5500 + shipping for this truck sight unseen from Washington state. Oh and its been engine swapped.

Anyhow that was back in July. I’ve been working on her since then and have made a good bit of progress. Still more to do but the only thing really holding back getting the inspection and tags are tires and a few minor issues.

It’s a K30 Custom Deluxe, came from the factory with a 6.2 Diesel with AC. I got it with a 454, no AC compressor. Blower box and accumulator and the 4seasons controller is still there tho. The 454 casting number is 3999289, and the tag below the alternator is
T020trk So i think it’s from a 71-79 truck.

I’ve got plans for what I want to do with this truck. Namely Suburban captains chairs and console, both the one between the seats and the overhead. The other big items are an overdrive transmission either a TH400 with a gearvendors or a 700R4, and a posilock on the rear Dana 70HD. Tires I’m thinking of just 255/85R16’s because I rather like the stock height of these truck.

Planned use is as a daily driver, and infrequent halling of stuff around town and some towing of cars.

Welcome to the site. Nice score. I believe the best thing you could do for the truck is donate it to me. :D

My wallet aproves of this comment... But I dont! ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm going to get around to posting a build thread at some point soon. Been cold at night (when I have time to work on this project) so not much has gotten done lately, which has sorta been driving me crazy.

I feel ya.I hate the time change.I hate to get home from work and 30 min or an hour till dark. However, not to sound ungrateful, very thankful to be working.

That’s a nice project you have.700R4 has no place in that truck,IMO.More like a NV 4500 or G.V. behind a big block or 6bt.

Welcome from Washington. Quit stealing all our good trucks! Last tranny I’d put in that thing is a 700r4. They can barely handle a blazer let alone a 9000 pound dually with a big block.
