Goodyear Military sand Performance?

What up guys? Quick question.

I live in Daytona Beach and I'm planning on running the old girl down to the beach tomorrow for some pics since she's done(for now), and of course a little playing and testing.
I was wondering what to expect out of these Goodyear Wrangler 37x12.50x16.5s on the sand and anyone able to recommend PSI?

Damn. Anyway, not a fan of goodyear wranglers but they look different than the junk I used ot have. can you show me a link of the tire online?

No experience with that tire on sand, but just about any tire on sand likes to be under-inflated. If you have a way to air down when hitting the sand, then airing back up for the street, do it. I don't know how heavy the sidewalls are on those Wranglers, but I'd imagine they're pretty good, being Military issue. What I'm getting at there is that you should be able to run a pretty low pressure in the tire, and it not damage the sidewall. This will give you a much better footprint in the sand.

They should perform just fine. I wouldn't air down too much though, being 16.5's and the rims aren't exactly narrow. 15 psi or more should be plenty safe.

They are a Military spec tire and not made anymore. They were the first radials used on the Humvees.

I simply wished it had white lettering, I didntnotice it was milspec tires at first so I thought htey were civilian.

Also, one guy dished goodyear because asome political drama but it was NOTHIN about your tires.
I made a comment about radial tires get old and will show it more than bias plys but a heavy duty radial will prrobably be doing very fine in a few years yet

All sand is not created equal. Daytona Beach has a hard packed "dead sand" as opposed to a loose, vehicle swallowing " live sand". Off roaders as a rule are a friendly bunch. When you pull up to the access, take a look around at what others a re doing, and ask someone.

Air them down, they'll be fine.
Had wranglers on my jeep in the 80s. Learned about airing down and about lockers AFTER burying it to the frame. Lol
I was a kid, didn't know all these things yet.
