I have an Alpine CD/AM/FM that's about 15 years old and it still kicks ass. It's been in 3 vehicles and 4 boats so far. And it has a remote.

X2 on that Alpine... except the remote... been with me through two trucks... I can literally kick the dash, and the sucker won't skip... It's a good head unit. Use to have subs and 800 watt amp tied to it.. but running straight to 6x9's in the back and 6 inchers in the doors. Can't fit two 12's behind the seat in my sqaure.. I'm way to big to bring the seat up closer...

Picked this one up at BestBuy, for 120 bucks.. it was the one they used for the display... last of these models, if memory serves....

Alpine rocks

Yeah, I'm going with the alpine for sure. Just waiting for mine in the gp to give up. It's on it's last leg now :)

You should get one now and save what's left of that other unit for your son's first SB hoss. :High 5:

I have an Alpine 6 disc changer in the garage that I got off the CL free list. Works great too.
