Do you have conversion headlights or do you still have the standard sealed beams?

I was going to suggest this.

Get headlight relay kits.
Get sealed beam conversion headlights.
Then either put in 9012 lights or 4500k HID's. (you dont have to get blue HID's. Just get a kit that is 3500-5000k)

X2 for the 9012's.

They just need a little trimming off of the top ear.

4WDKC I had seen those lights on eBay, but I read some of the reviews though other sites that said the glass is thinner and as a result were somewhat loose in the housing. I went with the Hella conversion lights. I had them on my '79 before. I've only received the high beams so far. I should get the low beams today. I can say that they are a nice quality and fit tightly in the factory housings. I too have already purchased a relay kit with porcelain headlight connectors to deal with the higher wattage bulbs.

If it matters to anyone else looking into this, the LMC harness doesnt use standard Bosch relays so servicing it down the road will require some wire work.

I would suggest either making your own harness or buying one from ebay for 15-20 bux. The porcelain plugs are supposed to be good for heat resistance.

Those porcelain plugs are junk. The OEM 59-series are enough to crack them-they're about as tuff as dried toothpaste imo but yes, they are cheap.
