So the tooling is out there - wonder where and how much to procure it? Alot less than $25k me thinks.
"Supposedly" the tooling no longer exists. That's what I've been told, whether it's true or not, who knows.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the grill hunt!

I purchased the AMD repop for my build, looks like it is someone else’s product but I trust AMD wouldn’t market junk. It looks great!

This is my third one in the life of the truck, when I bought the first 2 replacements from the dealer the parts guy told me this was the single most expensive square grill GM made. At least in 1997-1999 it was, I had buddies there and got the employee discount, they were over $300 back then with the discount.

The one I’m replacing is actually in good shape and I planned on reusing but the chrome plating is all pitted and doesn’t polish up good anymore. It looked horrible compared to the re-chromed headlight bezels and new bumpers.

Sorry for hi-jacking OP, I’m just excited about my new grill.

They come in a TriPlus box, TriPlus is who does our stamping for us, but we developed that and own the tooling. They're nice pieces, we put alot of effort into developing those!

First time I've seen them in a looong time. Quite reasonable too. Wouldn't expect OE quality but the price is good. Dunno.

Probably just left over stock someone found in a warehouse. No info on if it's a single headlight or dual headlight version

That listing does not show that any are available for purchase.

There was when I posted it. It can be a lead as to 'will they get more' or was this a freak find too.

I know its not the same as stock but I believe Alumicraft can make one out of Billet for around $2k. I plan to order one for my Nova from them.

Isn't that deciphered in the headlight bezels??
Yes and no. If you have dual headlights, you got inboard mounted turn signals, like my truck. There's studs up top and a flange at the bottom that they mount to

If you have a single headlight truck, your turn signals are in the bezels, under the headlight

Occasionally an NOS grille will appear… but they go quickly! I missed this one.

@Streetdreamer @Doppleganger
I bought the Repop… I’ll follow up with quality details and fitment info.
I have attached the GMC emblem to this type grille before. It will pass till I find a real one.
Paid $130 - Not $199

Looking for a grill for the 1984 K2500 I am building. Restorable, NOS, is fine. Any help would be appreciated!
@Streetdreamer Also, TruckShop has the best price on the correct GMC letters
