I wonder how titling goes after you buy a brand new cab, would it be a 2011 squarebody? I was reading about a company in Texas that bought the Delorean factory with a bunch of left over parts and started producing DMC12's again. They look exactly like the old cars but are registered as 2011 cars.

It will vary state to state. In OK, you would file for a new state issued VIN. Technically that is what you're supposed to do in a recab too. I think you have to have title to both the VIN on the frame, and the VIN on the cab. Then they junk both those VIN's so they can not be re registered and will reissue you a vin plate that gets riveted to the driver side door post. It really kills the value of the truck, so its best to avoid it. For real, how many peace officers can lift the cab off your truck to read the VIN # on the frame? The frame VIN is on the top of the frame rail. Its position would be about where the passenger seat sits, so it can't be seen without lifting the cab.
