Is anyone offering a reproduction glove box lamp and switch kit for the '73-87's?

Do square bodies even have glove box lamps? Mine doesn't have one. Either way, that'd be kinda tricky because the whole compartment flops down. The Advance Design, Task Force, Action Line, GMT400 trucks had glove boxes that you opened the door and the compartment was fixed in the same place. I saw this little guy, which is the exact one for a GM B/G Body and would probably work in at least 1947-1972 trucks and SUV's and 1988(92) to 1998(99) trucks and SUV's. If you can make the little one work that'd be good. I know GMT800's have the whole glove box that flops down like a square body if that one wouldn't work so maybe use the 1999-2006 one if you need. Interesting question, though. And if they do have them, ignore my ramblings.

Can't say I've seen one with a glove box lamp either.

Y,know, now that you mention it, I cannot swear I've seen them either. But I find it hard to believe that the General would have glove box lamps since the 40's but not make them available in the '70's ??? Even at the Silverado trim level? A quick search of options seems to list everything except a glove box lamp.......hmmmm?

Attached pics are front and back view of what came in my '89. Classic Industries lists a replacement part and the application is for '89-'91. They claim theirs is an "original GM replacement" but the pressure switch looks different from oem.

From a user standpoint the light is better than nothing but when the glovebox is open all the way the light only shines on the front half of the contents. If you want to see the junk in the back (bottom) you have to close the door a bit so the light shines all the way in. It could be improved with a bright led instead of the 194 bulb and opening up the cutout below the switch seen in the first pic to allow more light.

Cool!!! I've never noticed those in the later models before! I don't think my old '90 had one, but it was a Scottsdale model.
