Fuel Gauge Woes

Thought I had my fuel gauge working because I made a connection between the gauge and tank wire and it went from 3 o’clock to 3/8 tank, but would only read 1/2 tank when filled.
Heard that it's likely this little resistor that's gone bad on the back of the fuel gauge.

Tested the resistance (should be 90 apparently) and got this:

Maybe a new resistor will fix the gauge?

We’re you able to change the resistor? If so, did this solve your issue?
