Frost bite radiator & electric fan???

I'd try lowering and triming the shroud and running a 6.0 fan. Lots of cases where going back with a mechanical fan fixed overheating issues. Even manufacturers of electric fans,don't recommend them on 4 core radiators or vehicles that tow. I'd use the electric fans you have in front of the radiator as pushers,reverse the polarity. I'd run a mechanical fan pulling through as much of the original shroud as I could. Some trucks came factory with electric and mechanical fans on heavy duty cooling. I use to have a bunch of info on the different stock fans but a 6.0 ought to do it.

I've read this on other forums.
Again, it only gets hot after sitting at idle or at a crawl in traffic. i installed a single electric fan out of a junk yard years ago & put it on a toggle. it cools it quickly. Since the truck is getting fully restored i was looking for something that looks nice & works.
I can't run the full stock shroud because of the 3'' body lift so the bottom 1/2 was removed.

A couple questions.
is there a better fan that can be put in place of the clutch fan to move more air?
my fan is original from 1986. the stock radiator was replaced with one with more rows & is in good shape.

Has anyone come up with a modification that allows you to use entire original shroud to accommodate the body lift ?

Not to nit pick but your truck is not being restored if it's got a 3 inch lift kit,not saying it's not cool, just not restored. Another thing to add about your shroud issue I think I'd try to lower to lower the top 1/2 of the shroud an inch and make a 2 inch spacer to go between the bottom 1/2 of the shroud and top 1/2. Make a sheet metal plate to go across the front of the bottom 1/2 on the bottom inch or 2. The goal is to keep the fan from drawing air under the radiator.
