Front yoke hitting crossmember

Hello, I just pulled my transmission and transfer case and replaced the seals. Sm465 and np205. My front yoke is now hitting the transmission crossmember when I engage 4x4. I did replace the transmission mounts with new ones from LMC. Has anyone else experienced this? How much clearance should I have normally?

I JUST REalized your adapter is very flush to your t case with how close the mount is.
here is my og 1980.

Does your tcase have the double cardan

looks like you have just a simple flange and 1 joint to straight shaft?
maybe wrong size? can we get another angle?

Transmission mounts from lmc appear to be too short causing it to hit.

perhaps 2wd trans crossmember mount instead of 4x4 trans adapter crossmember mount? i hear they are the same up to 80 soemthing

Stupid question,but is the metal case or outer shale present over the top of the polyurethane bushing on your cross member?

If so,I’m not sure what could of changed?

Looks like there’s enough thread on mounting bolts,you could use some 1/4” plate for shims under the feet of the adapter.

THIS. If you notice on mine, there is a little dip in the outer lip, it drops lower on front side(prob for that reason) and would be 100% reversible as long as the holes are centered on the crossmember(probably are)

Probs wouldnt hurt to undo engine mounts and that mount when repositioning to take tension that might be on your crossmember. if you replaced the pads and it was worn, it might have naturally over time turned down, and putting new pads on would "twist" the engine mounts and put a constant pressure that would be amplified by driving. So make sure no binding

Maybe I put it on backwards? There was one fixed hole for the mount and one slotted hole. I have the fixed hole on the drives side. When I reinstalled it, it looked like there was only one way it could go. I'll have a close look at it today. Thanks for the advice

I'll have a look at it today. I never noticed that recess in the cross member when I was reinstalling it

Everything on the truck is original in that respect. That crossmember had been on that truck since I bought it in 1997. Four wheel has never been an issue before now. Like Bucket said, it could be on backwards so I will check that out
