Finally got my front axle back - problem is , its been apart so long I dont remember how any of it goes back together (kind of thought thats what the guy who does this would finish). Guy who redid them said I need to get grease back inside this - is there a tool or attachment that does this?

Also - is there any decent exploded views of this? I think there is 3 snap rings, seals, etc.

If there was ANY one or place around here that did this, I'd take it there.

Thanks.

an you tell us what your truck ,suspension, axle name, anything special we must know? If that’s a front axle i assume then you have a backing plate dust shield I think that needs to come…first? Maybe a seal that goes behind that.
D60? Utvnaxle shaft?
My moms friends maybe 10 bolt from a guy with a thing that does that other thing?

helpppp

Thanks for this. Guy that did my axles gave me one of their cards for future use.

Same illustration as LMC.

This guy (that did the axles) said I need to find a way to pack the inside of the spindle with grease - ?! IIRC I need to put the dust shield on before the axle (which he didn't do). If I pull the spindles off, cant I pack it with grease then?

There's a bearing in the end of the spindle, just wipe a bunch of grease into them when you have them off to install the backing plates.

What is the secret to getting the spindles back on? Looks like the 6 holes dont -quite- line up with the knuckle studs. I greased it good and rotated the pinion and they got better, but no way can I get them on without beating on something.

Major DUH moment. I was under the impression (and an incorrect exploded view) that the dust shield went on first and then the spindle. Nope....spindle first, then dust shield.
