here's the tag I got from ECS, I'm impressed with it, it's just larger then the one that was originally on the truck.

I ran into that same sort of thing when I resto'd old euro cars. Some I could get - most had been NLA for decades. But if they had anything bar coded or VIN related, it was several forms and 3-6 months (if even available)....plus about $30. So I started to make my own from pics and measurements of the originals.....dead nuts down to the dot matrix font (if applicable), spacing, even the tamper shading, etc. Devils in the details. lol Did ALL the decals, including brake booster, ign coil, etc. Sold ALOT of these - didn't mean to (was just really doing them for me).

Intending on doing the same with these squares once I get to that point. Gotta collect the variances each year, what codes mean what, etc.

Before/afters. Other than the front of the battery, every decal is mine. :hat:

Hey Chris, is the tamper shading a dry transfer sort of thing?

Just a process the printer does. I have to have files of both what you normally see plus the "VOID" or whatever the warning is its been messed with - and he does the rest. Its a really thin mult-layered almost like foil. Not all the decals have them - some did with VINs I guess so you couldn't put them on another car. ?!

The place that makes my custom gauge faces and dummy lights (they do production vehicles) has really cool materials - they are layered and can be printed with different icons and different colors on individual layers just by the laser-temp they use. Looks like a white room in silicon valley.
