Front bumper opinion on position

I don't know of any square's close by that I can look at so I'm appealing to you guys/gals. Does this look like the front bumper is positioned correctly? It looks to me like the gap behind the bumper is too large and that the bumper guards should be a little more vertical? I had my mechanic put it on a lift to readjust it and he said that the holes would have to be enlarged to re adjust the bumper. Your thoughts and thanks.

That would drive me nuts. I think one of the bumper supports are out of wack. If you are going to go through the trouble of taking the bumper off to open up the holes on the bumper supports, just put a set of new bumper mounts on it in stead. I bet when you take the bumper off, the mounts are going to spring in some direction from a prior nudge. Someone probably “convinced them” into place.

That’s kinda where I’m coming from, nuts. I realize that no one else, except seasoned square body owners, would notice it. I need to go to some shows or meets to see for myself.
Thanks for your reply, that’s a good idea. It would take a lot of work to enlarge those holes. I wonder how difficult it would be to find good quality brackets?

If you want it twisted back a little bit, hit something about 2’ off the ground at 5 mph dead on. Lol. Won’t need to enlarge the holes…..

Mine sits about the same distance from the body, enough to expose the edge to get a foot grip when working on the engine

Maybe the very tip is pointed a tiny little bit up which would suggest that the whole thing is slightly tilted?

This is the original color combo. Truck is restored to 95% original and just turned 62k. Whenever I need to leave the house, this is my driver, rain or shine. The folks around here enjoy seeing it and let me know. A lot of fun!
