Hello all, been looking for a hood lift system for my 1975 K10. I haven’t located one yet but I did talk to Redline Tuning in Ann Arbor, Michigan and they offered to design one for someone in the local area for free. You just need to get your truck to them. Allowing them to use your truck in an effort to design a prototype would be a great service to those of us looking to get rid of the spring system currently in use-and you get rewarded in the process.

Wam rods has a 73-80 setup that's been on the market for several years.

Gets rid of the springs an makes the hood open/close smoother. You still have to lube the hinges but it should also reduce the chances of bending it.
I would think that after a few years, it would also increase the chances of a mouse trap effect.

Yeah reminds me of my 928. The rear hatch was pretty heavy and when the struts got weak that thing would mouse trap the hell out of you. I would stick with springs.

I would verify that the hood opens all the way with these. They are pretty popular as I see them at shows on a regular basis but if I recall correctly, it restricts the total opening. That's the problem with a lot of billet hood hinges.
