I'm sure this will not be appreciated either, but if you're making such a serious investment in engine and drivetrain for such a specialized piece of equipment why not invest in some tube stock and a couple of I beams, make a chassis jig and fabricate a tube chassis for this thing.
From your other thread, clearly you have some serious fabrication skills. Why not do it like the pros instead of trying to cobble a factory frame that was never designed for your intended purpose.
Straight to the point. I like it! My reasoning here is, I won't be doing 20 foot jumps in this, like the big shots with the Rockwell/Pettibone planatary hybrids, king coilovers and such, I'm not too worried about frame warp.
Did just speak with a friend last night on the telephone, he said he ran in his mega truck a factory open "C" frame with just the sub frame under it, 12 years, no issues, seen many other mega truck guys use a stock frame. Didn't even box it, just a sub frame under it.. But back to making a tube frame, it's a thought I had, as to why I wouldn't? I can't answer that lol, I'm not that great, I can cauble up some ****, weld it, machine it, I have access to mills, Lathes, surface grinders, or EDM's (I work with my dad at his machine shop). I'm just not that dedicated of a fab guy I reckon.
