I have actually happened into a situation where I could use some knowledge from experts. I can find a 16.5 (2 sizes, actually) for a trailer tire in my budget constraints. I only looked for fun but they are priced inline and would give me actual use for 6(prob more if I look) wheels that otherwise will rot away, useless till they are useless-er.
But I don’t know this old pre-metric tire sizing that well, nor do I have such a deep knowledge of wheels that were common on here trucks

How can I know what width wheel I need? And would a stock gmc or Chevrolet NON split rim 16.5 or an aftermarket wagon wheel 16.5 wheel work for this tire? It is a bias ply, which is fine it’s for a trailer. I have at least 2 16.5 solid one pierce wheels and 4 wagon wheels in 16.5 that just look ugly and do nothing and it would allow me from having to put the trailer on jack stands while I replace the tires on the rims. (Also gives me the freedom to derust and get painted the wheels)
assuming the wheels aren’t too wide or too narrow, is 8.00-16.5 tall enough for a 14 bolt pumpkin to clear the ground? I have no reference for the height of this tire snd hard to find an online comparison.
