For those in the know, 1974 3/4 ton 4X4, new WARN manual hubs, simple bolt on?

I have a 74 3/4 ton 4X4 manual 4 speed that has never had locking hubs on it, I’m going to order a set of new WARN
(PREMIUM LOCKING HUB - 19 SPLINE - 9072) to install. My question is can I do this job in the parking lot with a few simple tools?

You *should* be able to, yes. I don't recall anything special or difficult about those older hubs.

I’m “hoping” they won’t be a problem. I’m also going to have to find a set of new tires for the 750 mile drive…..problem is the rims are 16.5 tire selection will be slim, especially in a strange town.

For a road tire, I think the Firestone Transforce HT's are still being produced in the 9.50x16.5 size.

Isn’t the Oe tire an 8.5 on 16.5

on a 4x4 3/4 on that vintage at least.

I got some rock hard somehow not phased by uv age or wear 16.5 everywhere

so you could prob get a rock hard ride on tires that have a lot of tread that won’t grab **** but at least it’s got tread depth and siping. Lmao

Which direction are you headed in your travels? Taylor Tire in the little town of Crewe is very likely to have 16.5's in stock or at least can get them quickly.

And if you do get tires there, just tell them that your are leaving the neat looking vintage tires there for Andy at FDC to pick up, lol.

Question….do y’all think that 1994 Chevrolet 4X4 16 inch 8 lug wheels would fit on my 1974 K20 ? Bolt right up with no issues ? Lug nuts, clearance ? thanks

The newer lugnuts are metric, so you can't use those, but the wheels do fit. They just have a little more backspacing than your stock wheels.
