Been lurking for a bit, so I thought I'd share my Squares since I just picked up a second one.

Both are '87 GMCs
New to me, I'm the 3rd owner of the High Sierra short bed. It's only a 305, but its all factory with a New Process A833 from the factory. Boring 3.08 rear end. Just about 240K on the clock.

I'm the 2nd owner of my Sierra Classic R2500 2WD Suburban. Just about 150K on the 350/350/G80 w/ 3.73s. Think I'm going to do a 700R4 swap on the Suburban soon...

Thanks! Yea, after driving through a dust storm last month on the way back from Flagstaff, the 'burb is not quite as pretty. Thought I'd introduce her as she was last fall. I'll get another pic for y'all soon.
It's definitely a TH350. Don't know why I posted High Sierra for the burb, she's a Sierra Classic.

That sucks about the dust storm. So did the Burb get sandblasted? A good pressure wash, then a hand wash with a microfibre cloth for some prep work, then a good clay bar treatment will probably take care of it if the paint held on.

I remember once driving back from Laughlin back to OKC. Eastbound on I-40 in NM, I could see way up there that there was some kind of huge rust colored cloud and was wondering WTF? Is that a rain storm or what? About 20 miles later when I was in it, I knew then what it was. It was a high wind sandstorm. Middle of the day, headlights on and couldn't see ****. Everyone was down to about 30mph for about 15 miles. I was glad to get out of that. Luckily it didn't do much damage to my new truck. A good rain storm in Amarillo, TX washed most of it off by the time we made it home. Then a good wash and I did clay bar on the hood. Didn't seem to get much off so I figured the sand didn't get embedded into the paint and the clear coat did it's job. Waxed it and called it good.

Yep, desert sandblasted racing stripes now...

Once I do the transmission swap, a paint job is next on the list. I have dreams of an Indy Hauler repaint, but we'll see.

It was a drag to see so much paint blow off so quickly. Just roadtripped to Austin last month and the humidity or something there peeled a bunch more off!

That's about what it looked like when I seen that one in NM, except it had it a little redish brown tint to it. Being from OK, I thought damn, that's a hell of a wall cloud and it sure is low. I was thinking of hanging back but listening to the radio for weather reports, nothing was being said so I figured it can't be a tornado.

Thanks! Yea, a bit boring, but that's fine for now. They're only original once... This fall that may start to change, as I'm contemplating prepping her for a "period correct" (although with more HP) big block swap.

I think it would be alot more fun with some 3.73's or 4.10's with that transmission rather than a big block. JMO, I'd be thinking rear gear swap if the Wee O Five is still running fairly well.

I reckon that'd be cheaper!
3.73 locker is where the prep is going to start.
But a rebuild for the 305 and a couple turbos would net more power for less, and it'd be the same factory block too...
Hmmmmm.
