Hey guys, for some reason I waited until I was 30 to attempt a truck project. I have basically zero previous mechanical experience so this should be fun.
Picked up this Sierra 1500 long bed on Craigslist, running but needs tuning, timing, and has a minor exhaust and oil leak. This could be a fun project or a money pit, but I love the truck and either way it'll be good learning experience.
I know very very little about the mechanics, learning as I go, so I apologize in advance for the numerous stupid questions that I'm probably going to ask in here.
This will be a long-term project. My initial plans for it are to get it inspection-worthy, then work on the cosmetics. Eventually I plan on lowering it a bit and clear coating it. Hoping to find additional inspiration here.
The only pics of the engine bay I have are from the CL ad so they're not great, but here's my 86 square body project:
