Hello all. Name is Matthew and was given this forum link by a friend and decided to join.
Recently inherited a 1985 GMC K1500 from my Grandfather & was told to show it off here as some would appreciate seeing it.
He rescued the truck from a junkyard outside of Belton, Texas and spent his last remaining years fixing it up. From the engine/transmission to the paint job and chromed out bumpers.
About a year ago on what would become his last birthday he handed over the keys and title to me & we went for a drive. Will always cherish that memory. Have been in love with this truck ever since.
Am introducing myself in hopes of learning more about this vehicle and intend to spruce her up even more!
Currently as she sits I have made some cosmetic changes with chrome side rails & some personalized decals. Have given her the name ‘Blue Umbrella’ after one of my favorite John Prine songs.
This is just an introduction but am looking forward to learning more from all of you.
Hope everyone’s weekend is treating them well.
