I've got a 84 K10 with a fresh engine rebuild and 700r w/4" lift and 33x12.5 mickey Thompson tires. Its my first Square and haven't owned a carb'd truck in 20 years, never a lifted truck but this one was in my price range and was close by and i will be pulling the lift out and taking it back to stock ride height very soon. I've got all new parts for the front and the U-bolts for the rear after removing the blocks. #1 question : will i have to change the tires after the swap? #2 Question : is there a market for the front springs i pull out? does anyone want them for their lift project? I'm in the Wausau Wisconsin area. [email protected]
Thanks Scott

First off:welcome:

Second... 33s fit with a stock lift, but might have a little clearance issues. Really depends on how wide your wheels are.

Third... I'm sure you can sell the 4 inch lift. Fakebook market, or something like that. C note or a bit more, be gone in no time.

Just FYI... we need pics. We are pic hoes here...LOL

OMG. Don’t touch it! Awesome lookin truck!
1. Maybe. We had an old K20 on 33s at work, back in the day. Best of my knowledge it wasn’t lifted. Guarantee they won’t fit with anymore than a 0 offset though. Without taking the die grinder to your shiny fenders.
2. Absolutely there’s a market. Especially if you know what kind they are.
If they were soft rides and I lived at our place in WI I’d buy em from you.
3. You didn’t ask this question, but if you’re gonna drive that in the winter hopefully the underside is as shiny as the topside. And whether it is or not, I’d shoot all the nooks and crannies with paint/rust reformer first and I’d coat the undercarriage and especially the inside of the body panels. Krown, fluid film, something. As quick as newer vehicles rust out up there, a square will rust out about twice as quick.

We got a place up in Park Falls if you know where that is. PS have a fish fry and some cheese curds this Friday night for me. We don’t have that around here. (We do have killer fish fry’s but can’t get Walleye or Perch!)

@Grit dog
It was a frame off rebuild, blasted and and epoxy sprayed frame , all new steel inner and outer, original box bed and cab, new doors , hood and tailgait. i do have a case of woolwax waiting to be applied when weather gets better. it wont fit in my shop so it has to come down from the 81" stance it has now. it will be back to stock asap
Fishfry and curds all the time. i pass on the Old Fashoined's these days but i love it here in Wisconsin. thanks for commenting. hopefully the lift comes out without too much trouble

Welcome, nice truck. 32" tires will fit fine if your changing them. Also, there are coil over shocks for the front and the back. Not sure if it will raise it enough for 33's or not.

Welcome from Austria, great truck. It will look even better with the original ride height. I had 33x12.5 with steel wheels my k5 with stock ride height and no clearance issue.

Just thought about it, keep it top notch....I'm sure it's tax deductible in doing so :)
