I do like that creeper thing and think it would be very useful provided it didn' restrict how far you can reach.

* all parts are 81-87

1. remove the hood
2. remove the bumper and brackets
3. remove the battery
4. disconnect the wiring harness from the headlights, horn, ground point, etc.
5. unbolt the radiator from the core support (don't miss the two bolts on the bottom)
6. unbolt the fenders and inner fenders from the cab
7. unbolt the core support from the frame (the body mounts) (will have to remove grill to access them)
8. remove the front clip

Thats the safest way to do this so it doesn't get damaged. I had a hoist to lift mine off so I left the radiator in it. But it is up to ones own discretion.

If you have AC the condenser will also need to be disconnected or removed from the radiator shell

Not that complicated IMO you pull of just fenders then you'll deal with realigning fenders and that can be painful if you've not done it before

Yeah if I was doing any work on the engine I would have removed the radiator, but I was just swapping front clips so no need to waste all that coolant. So I just kept the radiator connected to the hoses and leaned it gently against the fan. (When I was working on the engine earlier this year I literally crawled inside the engine bay and tried not to step on the brake lines or anything. lol)

It was a lot of work, needed three people to pull the clip off. I installed the new one piece-by-piece but you won't need to do that, just take it off in one piece and put it back on in one piece.

If you are planning on doing heads ans intake why not pull the engine and do that work on a stand? There will be plenty of room then to sit in the engine bay and fix stuff up.

X2. You can have that motor out in no time. You will be pumped when it's on a stand. Then you can clean it all up and repaint it, as well as clean up your engine bay.
