I would LOVE to find a set of the 8 lug version. Something about them just looks so much cooler than the typical bullet hole wheel.

I inventoried a set a while back, the yard owner kept them when I told him what they were and how rare, he has a 1976 1 ton he is going to put them on. He paid me though, gave me a stack of early GM CD players that are bringing good money these days.

I didn't realize you were still selling radios. Do you have any of those early CD players left? I haven't seen any of the black face/button ones for a Camaro in many years. Hell, I haven't seen any of the gray ones from other GM's in a while either, lol.

I haven't had any in a while. I do keep my eyes open for them though, some yards give them to me or sell them at a good discount.

I've seen them listed in Sales Brochures as early as 1976, but as a dealer installed accessory. I never saw them very often until they started using them on a lot of Vans, Suburbans, and Blazers around 1987.

It is my understanding there are two versions that look basically the same from the front. An earlier version made by Alco with a forged rim, and a later version made by Western that was cast not forged. Mine are the Alcoas that I found on facebook marketplace that had been sitting in the woods or at least a decade. Then i cleaned them up, sanded out any curbing and polished them.

Yes, they changed from forged to cast in 1982.

I've got a set to use on my '84. I think they may be the forged version. What is the telltale?

Good to know there are different wheels, I will have to look at mine. At one point in time I had a complete set, but I know two of them are on a truck. The other two are supposed to be in the wheel rack....

I really like the way that center cap looks with the bullet on it. Where did you find those?
