Last year I repleced some brake lines and hardware related to the rear drum brakes on my 85 C25. At the same time I replaced the shoes as I saw that they had not been installed correctly by a previous owner. The drums were fine and not replaced.
After this I’ve started having extremely squeeky brakes the first real brake downs. I have a small hill down from my garage so I always need to stay on the brakes hard when backing out. This has become embarrassing and must not be pleasant to my neighbours. When I’m done backing down it usually has gone away.
If I remove the drums and clean everything down it goes away, but eventually comes back. It gets worse the longer the truck sits.
Any tips? Should i just replace the shoes again but also with the drums?
