No, what his problem is, is he has no conception of what "working on the truck." means. In my case having a hot rod truck, it is always being "modified", parts upgraded, or "improved". My truck is never "broke down". I do have to admit it actually was this time with smoke coming out from under the dash. But since I've always rebuilt my own alternators, as the one that was in there was, the only part I never replaced was the stator or the center windings. They were over fifty years old. I guess they failed. I'll have to take it to a starter & motor shop I've delt with before and he'll put it on the machine. I tesated it and the book and the ohm meter said it was good, so I've always put it back in. I bought a new alternator and put it in, this time.
