not sure if this helps... on my '86 c10 2wd 1/2 gas engine the orange and blk wire connector was for my CLock in the dash. the pink/pinkblk wires are (i have found) are typically key on power source. you MIGHT check under dash kinda next to the pedal (center portion of firewall) and see if you have the "convenience center" bracket. that conn. might go to it?? not sure though.

good luck & keep us posted.

Nice, my thread has returned, lol. I probably won’t have time to look at it this week but thank you for the response.

It's saying my picture size is too large ever time I try to load it.
if on a pc, open the pics with paint or another picture editor and resize to 50% size.

I may have to use my PC or download picture app to resize because my phone don't give me the option to resize like on the previous model phone. Thank you

@Randy De Oreo, @idahovette,
My son always says, " Dad, your truck is always broke down.", or " You're always working on it.", or "Your truck is unreliable."
No, what his problem is, is he has no conception of what "working on the truck." means. In my case having a hot rod truck, it is always being "modified", parts upgraded, or "improved". My truck is never "broke down". I do have to admit it actually was this time with smoke coming out from under the dash. But since I've always rebuilt my own alternators, as the one that was in there was, the only part I never replaced was the stator or the center windings. They were over fifty years old. I guess they failed. I'll have to take it to a starter & motor shop I've delt with before and he'll put it on the machine. I tesated it and the book and the ohm meter said it was good, so I've always put it back in. I bought a new alternator and put it in, this time.
