With what part? That crew cabs are more useful or they are more popular now?

Just wondering.
That GM should have produced extended cabs all those years the other companies were, there was a market for them. And they also waited too long to make the opening XC doors IMO.

My brothers '02 is and extended cab with the rear doors that open and the seat is fine. May not be as roomy as a crew cab but it does the job.

I am sure there would be a group of us here that would love to get our hands on and restore or DD a factory produced SB GM XC truck if they existed. I know I would.

And just to let you know, I had to suffer watching my Dad sendding his '69 GMC C-30 off the the junkyard insteead of letting me have it, and forcing me to drive his new to him '79 Dodge W-200 EC for the next 10 years, maybe you can understand why I wished GM produced them at the time, lol.... :shitsweak:

I would LOVE to have a SB X-cab truck. I, too, wish GM had produced them rather than these limited production ones from conversion companies (some didn't do too hot of a job either). My truck would be perfect to me if it was an ext cab

very old thread, but this just came up for sale over here. Would like to get it, but REALLY cant justify another rig right now. Thought y'all might get a kick out of this tho ( looks like it was imported and converted in '96 from the tags ). Another conversion by Custom Vehicles International ( Arlington, Tx ) ?

that right hand drive is interesting...
my neighbor down the street has a super-super extended cab square-all metal, no fiberglass
makes my 21 ft long crew look positively short...

Big rig guys are monsters  They'll do anything and everything to make their pickup more like a semi lolol

I have seen 3 or 4 extended cabs for sale in the past few years, all very atrociously modified and rough from the conversion.

There's one for sale right now in my area that has a cab and chassis dually rear end under it lol

well my neighbor is semi-retired, not a trucker, and not the first owner. it was built in the '80's by a retired chinese dentist and his wife. it is/was a custom made rv before the camper got crushed by a tree. ya, if you can get past every cheesy piece from the JC Whitney catalog on it, the rig is actually very well built. the dentist spent over 90-K building it, and that 90 K was in '80's dollars. it's rust free, has full air suspension, 454/T400 with 44 000 orig miles and runs like a clock. box alone is over 14 feet and gotta love all that '80's tech in the cab....

@Rumbledawg - that interior is wild ! - Gordon Gekko phone ..and the TV! , bet it only shows re-runs of the A-team and the 8 track only plays Bee-Gees hits. Still has the original Custom International jump seats in the back, and the PO must have a stash of flared jeans somewhere when sitting on that upholstery - RETRO !! I'd expect to find my Grandma still hiding in the back there somewhere !..
