So, im pretty much over my np203. Way to much drive train moving all the time. So opinions, first just man up and buy a np205, second rly thinkin about the part time kit for these but cant find a price (mile marker) and not rly sure if its worth the time/money/effert if my chain in there is slacked, last i have a 91 1/2 ton sitting around, is that still a np208? or are they diff on thos? Also on the 91 subject is that also a 4l60e?

Ford and newer Chevys have the front output on the wrong side. Your options are pretty much (with the least amount of work to make it work as possible) NP203, NP205 and NP208. 203 is chain drive which you already know, iron case. 208 is chain drive as well but aluminum case. IMO the best decision is the NP205. It may take a little work to find one that will work with your trans since the input spline count is different between standard and auto trans but the payoff of stump-pulling strength is worth it. I wouldn't throw away the 203 though, many people stack the range box onto the 205 for a doubler.

..Yea i have a feeling im not going to be happy unless i just do the 205. so i know its a wide range of of stuff they came on but what would be my best bet to look at. k5's, 1tons, older gm's 72 and older? Also im asumeing my crossmember will be diff.

208 won't work because your trans' output shaft is too short. Part time kit would be cheaper and less work, 205 will be bullet proof though.

My 203 has the part time kit in it. Theres alot less stuff to turn.

The 91 will still be a 700R4, and if it is a square body, would be a great thing to swap the entire unit into your truck. The case is an NP241 either way.
