Evaporator core repair kits

Just having a browse through parts on rockauto's website and come across these evaporator core repair kits. Anyone know what exactly they repair. I imagine its for either the top or bottom piping - which would be convenient if its for the bottom as mine has cracked about half way.

Yeah, all it does is allow you to crop off the bottom (inlet) tube and tack on that "repair kit" I think the expansion tube gets stuck in the OEM tubing and people frequently trash the line when they attempt to yank it out.

Might have to give it a go then. My burb being RHD has the evaporator on what is your drivers side so the normal bend of the evaporator pipes would put the drier right up against the engine,which makes replacing there evaporator with a brand new one not so straight forward.
