Hi!
Trying to find the correct mounts. Bought clamshells that should fit. My frame seems to have some sort of solid engine mounts. I have searched different forums with no luck. P.o. had a 350 in it which he sold. I have no clue right now. Originally an diesel truck 1981 Silverado.
Can I use the clamshells?
Does anyone know if cruise controller differ between diesels and gas?

1981 should have been 5.7 Olds diesel,an Olds engine on Olds mounts will practically install itself. I don't know what engine you are trying to install. So if you are just wanting an engine of any flavor Olds is easy. Chevrolet get the frame mounts for a Chevrolet. 6.2 D get frame mounts for an 82 up 6.2 truck.. The 6.2 is a Detroit diesel rumor has it it will install on SBC mounts, but IDK.. I ve answered your question, to the best of my ability, now FWIW Id set a 455 Olds down in there it bolts in with no mods has great pulling torque and pretty good mpg if you use a mild engine.

Thanks Ricko!
Unfortunately its a 305 with a Th 350 behind it. The engine lacks the mounting hardware. P.o. probably scrapped the diesel and put a chevy 350 in it. Started to restore it, but lost momentum or know how?
He then sold it as a "basketcase", the guy who sold it to me bought it because he needed the engine and sold me the rest of it.
Ok, it´s Olds engine mounts. Do you think the existing mounting holes will be correct for my clamshells? Any ideas of what hardware should fit to the engine block?
We have very few second hand parts here in Sweden, if its not Volvo, BMW, Merc or ****.

He probably put an oldsmobile 350 in it. You need to get frame mounts for a small block chevy 350. Hang on to your olds mounts, someone else may need them

Yeah, thats the only logical explanation. The guy who sold me the truck said it was a 350 csb and a th 350 c that came with the truck. Since the truck chassie was sandblasted and then rust protected he just might have missed the olds mounts.
Where do you think I should bolt my clamshells? The upper two holes or the lower ones?
