Anybody have anything to say about Engine Pro brand parts? Can't say I have ever really paid attention to them. My first impression is they make a lot of the parts used in rebuild kits and stuff like that.

I am asking mainly because I saw a CL ad for roller rockers. Wasn't sure if would be worth my time trying to talk the guy down in price or not. If they are quality parts I might, but if they are "junk" I will forget about them. https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/pts/6176514230.html

They are right down on Division by all the Mexican tire stores.

It's imported Chinese stuff, but generally good quality. Same stuff sold to machine shops and whatnot.

Sounds like it's Pro Form parts. As said, Chinese made. Some are OK and some are not. I've heard quite a few fitament issues on things like intake manifolds where guys have had to redrill or elongate holes to be able to get the bolts to line up. Those cheap $50 HEI distributors are Chinese Pro Form distributors. I thought they were all good but I've heard several complaints of them bending shafts. I never had a problem with one, but I'm not spinning 6,000 rpm either. Those parts are also sold under different names. Like you are calling them Engine Pro, I've seen several different names on those distributors, and I know Summit uses some of the stuff too and it's the Summit brand parts, like some of the aluminum intakes and some of the aluminum heads ready to bolt on are Summit brand, but are actually Pro Form made in China. So long as Summit backs them and honors the warranty, probably not much you have to worry about.

You mean Pro-Comp, worse $hit there is don't know how he stays in business.
Yes, Yes, Pro Comp, not Pro Form. Pro Form may have been one of those other names I've seen parts sold under the name of.

Ok, then I'm getting the 2 confused, but yes, you're right. It is Pro Comp that is the junk ****, like Summit brand intakes. Now keep in mind not all the Summit brand stuff is Pro Comp. I know some of the intakes are very good and I've been told they are made by Wiend however spelled. But I've seen the distributors from No name at all in white box to other names and some of them names being famous name brand and selling for almost double what Skip White sells them for on eBay. Same identical dizzy. And again, I've only heard about some junk dizzies, I've not got a bad one and I've bought 2 of them from Skip White and so did a neighbor that I turned onto 1, and he didn't have any problems either. Only issue I had, it seemed to me an ICM went out pretty quick being it was like 2 years old, but I didn't drive the truck much since I had a tow truck, so like maybe 1000 miles or so and an ICM went out in one of them. That could have been caused many things so I didn't blame it on Pro Comp or Skip White. I did have a wiring issue and I just figured that might have caused it. But Pro Comp makes all kinds of things, Oil Pans, pulleys, intakes, heads, dizzies and I am sure many other things too.

Skip White don't sell Pro Comp distributors and the Modules are Mobiletron a huge name in Auto electronics, got two of them and so far no issues, Pro Comp has their name cast in the housing, I have one and took a **** within a 100mi,(not the ICM) got it off E-Gay from some vendor, didn't know who's it was until I took it apart I'll have to post a pic, you'll love this one..

Most obvious thing is it says Pro Comp ok it. Looks like a support web is cracked or is that ****** casting? Shouldn't there be a bronze bushing in there?

Nahh, just a ****** casting to go along with the name, lol, I always put bronze bushings in them but lot of them came with steel, in fact I have an old Delco with a steel bushing, but that's not the main issue, something very obvious is missing here's a hint, the mechanical advance stopped working. :D
