Engine oil lines.

Bought 83 k5 with 454. Trying to straighten out work PO did

Looking at these lines and am suspicious of couple hose clamps on rubber over metal. Not leaking.

Is this ok or should I do something about it?

Also In search of a dust cover for 700r4. I see a bunch listed but says not for 4X4.

Is the bell housing/starter different on 4x4 where this would matter?

Need to fix that. Those are engine oil cooler lines. If one ruptures it's likely to kill the engine before you have a chance to shut it off. Can't tell from the pictures but if it has factory GM fittings there is an o ring inside that either needs replacement or a new fitting. No way I would drive that until it's fixed properly.

Thank you. Replaced with what. There are metal lines coming off the block that I’m assuming PO cut off whatever fittings used to be on them to put on the rubber hose.

How do I remove the metal lines from the block to replace them? I don’t bolts or anything to remove

With aftermarket oil coolers they usually use a different oil filter adapter, and the fittings for the cooler lines are on the adapter. I assumed the factory cooler was plumbed the same way, but maybe it isn't.

This one goes to the motor. Not something off the filter.

Thinking there’s gotta be a way to get them off

I believe you will find a small horizontal clip. If one is there, pull it out fitting will come off. Hard to say what is actually dealing with, Blazers never came with a big block. Was able to find one original style hose for a C 30 to compare. You may need to have something made.

If the lines at the block are still good for a few inches,you could flare them use couplers and make new hardlines,just like making transmission or brake lines. You could also use compression unions to join hard lines where the rubber is, your local auto parts store usually carries pre terminated steel lines in various lengths.
