Watch out for the later Vette center bolt covers. They have oil drippers and don’t play nice with aluminum roller rockers. They will self clearance. Lol

Thought that I throw my $.02 in. Not my square engine (yet) but one I built for my boat.

I agree that aluminum looks good and won't rust but polishing it sucks and the more polished it is the more everyone seems to want to touch it. The oils and perspiration...which translates to salt...in your hands and body does nasty things to aluminum and it seems you're constantly polishing to keep clean. If you leave a perspiration smear on a polished piece it becomes pitted in an astonishingly short period of time.

I think I've mentioned this before, but another option is black wrinkle paint on steel or aluminum covers. Depending on the color of your engine it can be a nice contrast or accent. Inexpensive and lower maintenance than shiny stuff. You can paint the bolts, or change them to stainless for some added detailing as well.

So I'm a sucker and needed more shallow valve covers to clear my AC compressor. $55 and I think they look pretty damn good. I'm told they'll rust and flake though ;-)

They rust and flake in the rust belt states, not so much here in the dry SouthWest.
