Engine dies when put in gear

That's when the truck sat for 6-8 months as I gathered funds, knowledge and courage to just do it myself. I just now finished assembling the rear and was getting ready to test it out when this stalling started occurring.

Due to it sitting for so long I would drain the gas, clean the tank and maybe a carb rebuild.

Thanks for the advice guys, sounds like I have a few more things on the list to try. Halloween party next weekend in the barn so I better not start dropping gas tanks and end up with a truck back in pieces and an unhappy wife haha.

You could go the least difficult route for now. Fill up the tanks with fresh gas, and add Seafoam to the tank you are going to use first.

I would just fill the one you're on right now. Fill the other on the next fill-up and switch over to it.
