I went with Derale brand for my 82 C20 with a 454 V8, was able to order with a size shroud that fit my radiator perfectly, added a painless install kit with relays & works great! Keeps that built BBC nice an cool on those really hot days! Using stock 4 row radiator btw.

I'm running this same unit in my dually w/big block and also 4 row radiator. Keeps that big girl super cool! She rarely gets over 160*.

I switched to electric fans just to clean it up and free up the power. I wouldn't do it again. It works fine, but it adds complexity for zero benefits.

Every thing OE on my truck was either missing or heavily cobbed, so I intended on going dual electric since the beginning. Built about 30 cars in the past (mostly vintage foreign) and used electric in many of them for a variety or reasons - especially turbos so we could run it on a timer for 3 min after shutdown to help with the heat soak.

Used Spal, Derale and Flex a Lite - liked Spal for great CFMs and quiet for what it was. When I got my Champion radiator, I bought this shroud from Jegs -

because it was a Champion product (so I knew the fit would be perfect). No idea how the setup works as I haven't got that far yet, but will in the next few months. Its thin so can see myself doing something to beef it up a bit.

Ford windstar for the win. One does hate fords but they do have good electric fans. I have the drivers side fan connected to a temp switch and a relay. And the other fan is on a toggle. Never had to flip it once. The one fan keeps me at a perfect temp at a red light and shuts off once I get moving. Also fits like a glove.
Nice install! What brackets are those? I just picked up a Windstar fan but can't see a good way to strap it in.

The bottom of the fan tucks in under the rad and is bolted through the existing fan shroud bolts and the top is just a 1/2 × 1/2 aluminum u channel self tapped to the fan and then bolted to the existing top rad holder. I had to carve around the rad hoses and trani cooler lines and thats it. Took me longer to wire it in then the install.

Did you flip the unit upside down by any chance? It looks different than mine in terms of the shroud and brackets. I picked up the Dorman 620-634 from Amazon...thanks again.

I run a 1995 T-Bird fan in my TPI powered 1989 GMC. On a 115 degree day, it will stay at 175 with the A/C blowing 40 degrees out the vents. The old clutch fan, though it was new, with the TBI 350 would barely keep it below 200.
