DUMB first post question!! Be gentle

Just picked up an 84 K10.

Noticed the lid on the air cleaner is off center. Hmmmm. Quadrajet

The stud for the air cleaner doesn’t appear to be threaded into the right hole. It’s threaded into the hole as seen in the attached pic.

The hole which is centered on the carb doesn’t appear to be threaded??? Is this possible? Am I gonna have to tap that?

Looks like someone stripped it out and then tapped the other hole for a bigger rod. That looks like a bigger all-thread rod to me than what should be on there too. The threads on the other hole are pretty deep on the stock carb. You should be able to shine a light down the hole and see if there are threads towards the bottom.

The hole that has no rod in it should contain a recessed flat-head screw that holds the air horn to the carb body.
