Yea. Wanted a flat bed for a while. Planned to recab the k20 there beside it, but ran across this one. Needs a seat, king pin bushings, and floor pan. Nut it runs and drives. Picked the whole thing up for less than a grand. I was happy with that
I got me a new doner too.....doner day lol not 4x tho.

so, ive been working on this dually off and on, lots of other projects happening at the same time. noticed that the bellhousing bolts are loose or missing. ive looked around the internet, and cant find a definite answer, so here I am again. I want to replace all the bolts and make sure they are all tight, but cant find an answer as to size. would a 4 speed use the same bolts as an automatic? are the bellhousings any thicker? I can find kits for auto, or for m21, 22. probably a dumb question, just want to make sure what I buy works as it should and I have no other issues with this. any input from someone with more knowledge than me? thanks

ok, so here is another question about this thing. went to replace the shocks, and one of the rear shocks is gone. no big deal since ill be replacing anyway, but the upper mount post is also gone. so my question is, what do people usually do to replace that mounting post? the small gap between the frame and the mounting bracket feels too narrow to fit a nut through. once again, another new challenge I never ran into working on 3/4 tons. lol

I made new ones that use the replaceable mounts that come on the 1/2 and 3/4 ton ones. I have pics somewhere I will dig them up. highdesertranger

well as you know the upper 1 ton shock mounts are non-serviceable. I have broken a few, so I made my own that uses the stud mount found on 1/2 and 3/4 ton models.

first I removed the old mounts. you can see in the pic this one was cracked it would only be a matter of time before she let go.

here is the new type of mount. I then fabricated some brackets using angle and flat plate. notice I am doing the fab on a bench this is because I cut the frame on a wrecked 1 ton around the factory mounts in anticipation of doing this mod. this made it much easier.

here you can see one stock bracket and one I made.

test fit on my frame before I drilled it for the stud.

to be continued. highdesertranger

Nice. Thanks a bunch for finding those pics for me. Looks to be a much better setup than the factory.

I basically need everything in these pics, the radiator support, the spring shackle, and that little brace behind them. Unfortunately, I need these for both sides. idk if someone here has a trashed frame lying around, or maybe there is a salvage yard nearby. idk. the yards around here have no squarebodies, ive looked. If someone could help me out with availability and a price, that would be great. thanks
