Drop On 4x4 Feedback Thread

Hello All,
I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I want feedback on this idea for a distant future project I am contemplating but am not dead set on... I have a V10(19874x4,as most of you know). I love it but I also am longing for a lowered, hot rod type of: square, or OBS, or 1st, or 2nd gen! Being realistic, this may be the only Square I ever own. I would love to beleive about getting another Chevy or GMC truck to have for this project but most likely, not happening. I have been thinking about dropping this truck with 4 wheel drive in tact. No slamming on bags or anything, just a 6/4 or 5/7 or whatever would work for lower stance for a mean street truck look. I like the rake look. I don't off road ever except driving down the dirt road driveway to my family's river house every now and then. I most likely could utilize 4x4 in snow driving to work when it snows or on the beach in OBX like the previous owner of my truck had fun doing. Both seem possible still being on a lower stance. I have seen this on the Powernation YouTube channel. "Red Tide" was an OBS K1500 turned low.
Please give me thoughts and remember this is an idea not a definite.

Your truck looks awesome as is!! I'm not a fan of lowered trucks. But in the end...it's your truck to do with what you want.

I'm not into lowered stuff much but given your interest and driving style I can understand. So what comes to mind Is a GMC Cyclone. They were bada$$!! Awd supercharged 4.3 but looked 2wd and cool! That's kinda what I think you're thinking but only with a square?

FWIW, find you a 2x for your lowered build...please! You have a great looking ride & I certainly wouldn't butcher it for a lowered stance.

You can remove the 2 inch lift, but beyond that, there's really no room to go lower. You still need to have frame/axle clearance and axle/oil pan clearance. Unless you do major surgery and adapt a late model type IFS frame.

Sounds like you need a 2nd truck

I agree, hard to go much lower than factory with some doctoring, even more for a 4by.

Reminds me of a convo i had with my friend regarding my 2wd. I said well i like the factory height and in reply he goes. Lower or higher you gotta pick one!

I have definitely decided not to lower my 4x4. I will just long for the day an opportunity may present itself for a 2nd truck that is a C and lower it or that is already at the height and stance I want. One day. Dream square would be a 73 step-side, 5/7 ,with rally wheels! Any GM generation C10 would be awesome with a lower street stance and a V8 of course.
