I have a 1990 v2500 suburban and I can not locate the DRL module. The wiring diagram I have only states that it is on the left hand side behind the instrument panel.

My DRLs are required for a safety. The DRL dash light works, but the DRLs do not. I replaced the relay, since it was bad. Now the DRL on the dash does not light up. Any suggestions?

Well I was never aware they had DRL,s in 1990... I was thinking that didn't start until the late 90's....

Export to Canada had drl module installed. Tracing the wires from the headlight switch might be the only other option unless someone finds info on it

Is this like the Twilight Sentinel that GM cars got in the 80s with a second dimmer style switch in addition to the main one? That system allows the sentinel to be turned off, I believe, and it also serves as a timer to leave the lights on up to a few minutes after the vehicle is shut off. The photocell is supposed to be behind the panel. It looks kind of like a Bluetooth mic that you use in your car, or at least the one I’ve seen does. I’ll attach a video of a guy who fools with old B/G Bodies to see if maybe that takes you in the right direction.

It is not the above twilight sentinel. There is a module somewhere. Can't even locate a replacement for it on auto part sites.

I gotcha. Sorry about that. I don’t know the setup, but it seems like the easiest way would be to trace the wire from the indicator light back to the module. Either that, or as stated, work your way from the headlamp switch. It doesn’t surprise me that you can’t source a switch. Hopefully you can improvise once you get your bearings and locate the module.

I see them now. I searched the GM part number and found nothing, as you did. I also searched 12088547, which is the module that came after yours that they used through the end of the 90s apparently. Again, nothing. I searched eBay, cross referenced both numbers, and got nothing. It’s just a little circuit board so it should be repairable or replicable in theory. @gmachinz

Thanks. I came up empty as well. I will have to check the local wrecking yards or perhaps get a universal LED DRL module and make it work (see below).

As of 1990 DRLs were mandatory in Canada.
And vehicle owners are required to keep them in working order even if parts are obsolete and no longer available??? [smh as I walk away]

Yeah, that sucks. I’ll bet Sylvania loves Canada, though.
