Driver Vent Window

Getting to the last minute items on the 1991 Suburban V1500. The driver side vent is giving us fits. Everything we touch seems to bend, break or not fit. Rather than throw $40 bills at this one, has anyone purchased one of the LMC complete vent window assemblies? Your experiences and thoughts on fit, quality and value would be most appreciated.

I have a passenger and driver side vent window assemblies from LMC in my '85 C10 doors. They work great and show no signs of leaking after several years, though the black paint on the frame is pretty thin. I'd suggest putting some sort of protective coating on them before installation, otherwise you'll be fighting surface rust sooner than you think.

I recently installed one in my 88 Burb. The fit is "aftermarket good." Not perfect, but acceptable. Just pay lots of attention to the rubber seals and getting them to lay properly as you work the assembly into place. The final metal screw at the top didn't line up perfectly, but that was a pretty easy fix (I just re-drilled the hole in the vent assembly).

The installation itself sucks, but that is mostly about tetris-ing the assembly back into the window channel.
