I like the wheel a LOT. I wanted the wood but this one was a gift. I figured if I wanted to, down the road, I can swap them. The “grip” is replaceable.
I had an old grant on there and it served a long life and needed to go. The hub on these are 10000 times better than the cheap grant ones.
eBay has the replacement rings for less than $60 and the hubs are cheaper and so are the steering wheels themselves , so I'll probably order that way to save a few bucks , go figure forever sharp has an eBay store lol

I actually got the hub for 20 bucks off Offer Up. And the wheel was about 119 on amazon.

As far as the mounting screw problem, I think Eskimo man 209 ,
has the right idea. If it was me, I'd paint the mounting section
black like he did, but I would also paint screws black. The screws
Would be less noticeable.

Note! Black goes with any color.

Yea that's what I ended up doing , my truck is a rat rod style with the patina though so I didn't paint them as it would stand out too much , just cleaned them up but I did paint the screw heads a flat black , but I might have to go up another size in screw cause a few of them didn't secure properly sorry for small pic I'm not a vip member

I just took mine off, since the cab is going to the blaster! Here's a couple of pictures of the original screws. As you can see 7mm wrench and the screw head has the #2 on it! Hope this helps others.

Can it be figured out? Yes. It’s a small screw and is really of no consequence here. But in some applications adding the head makes it unusable. Asking for a 1 1/2” screw when you needed a 1 3/8” can also make you go thru the body.

let’s set good examples for our future wrenchers
