Quick question what determined if your truck came with the black plastic, or aluminum sills? My 85 is a Silverado trimmed truck , but has the plastic sills.

Plastic sill trim is correct for an ‘85 Silverado. 1981 was the first year for the black plastic sill.
The Aluminum sills fit the ‘85 and IMO look better. Here’s them on my ‘84

LMC has some nice looking lighted ones with logos in them. They would get beat up in my truck so I gotta pass.

Thats one nice interior errr. whole truck. Thanks for the answer. I'm thinking of getting the aluminum ones. My plastic ones are beat. The light up ones are cool but expansive and I don't think they would last on a daily driver.

I have a NIB aluminum set I might want to part with...

My 79 Deluxe had black plastic but I am doing the whole interior and am going with the "shiny stuff"" this time.

I have always thought the black plastic was for the base models and the aluminum was for the high-line models. The aluminum ones look better.
