Door Hinge return spring-

I've read the posts on replacing a broken door return spring however was unable to access the pics showing the bent screwdriver/pry bar. If you have any personal experience doing this WITHOUT removing the door- it would be GREATLY appreciated. (Along with any links & pictures.)

Bought this tool years ago. Change the spring in seconds. Hook the bottom, crank around the top and push down.

You could make one out of a old 1/2" drive socket.

I have a stripped down cab andthe springs , now all i need is warmer weather and motiviation....got 50% of it whipped

I was wrong...I do not have the springs....I was debating not replacing. Since they are still in place. But I think for the cost and shipping charges i think it would be foolish to not replace while things are disassembled

I was DOUBLE Wrong. I do have springs.
Anybody else have trouble finding parts when everything is dismantled

You guys are great- I retired Jan 2021 (after battling COVID- there WERE,times I truly wanted to die) and started working on my 78K10 SWB (2nd owner). It was sitting for years and I got it up and running. Last year my younger sister died from Cancer (COVID stopped all treatments until it was too late), sooo I've really appreciated your insights. I saw a post where removing the door was like pulling the engine to change the oil...
I'm looking forward to success on the door return spring without removing the door (or hood, inner and outer fenders...).
