Dome Light Comes on with Headlights

I suspect that the answer will be "check your grounds." I'm not looking forward to that.

Dome light works as it should - open the door and the light comes on (original switches stick a bit, but his the button once or twice and on they come.) I just noticed that when I turn one the headlights, the dome light glows weakly. If I turn the lightswitch knob, the dome light comes on full with or without the headlights on. (Headlight switch is relatively new ~ 2 years old).

So assuming it is grounds, where would be the best places to start?
If it is not grounds - any ideas?

I was going to lean on the switch, go the the auto wrecker and pull one for 5 bucks/ throw the old one back in maybe, beyond that ground, but short to ground back feeding to only your dome light just seems wrong..,

^Fwiw it would cost more to fire up the truck and drove even 10 miles to the wrecker yard. New headlight switches can be had for about 10 bucks.

Agree. Also if you (Bruce) want something better than the store brand headlight switch, Oreilly's can order GM 7 pin headlight switches Part #: D1506A or 8 pin Part #: D1588. Obviously the ACDelco units will cost more, but given your OEM ACDelco headlight switch made it almost 40 years, might be worth while.
