All you guys with a shade tree should count your lucky stars, my shade is manual lol. And I live in AZ where the shade doesnt make it any less hot, just keeps you from turning red.

That a Monarch? and a Gorton? Or a Btidgeport?
Bridgeport Vari-head 2 hp 9X42 with DRO, nice little machine. Monarch lathe WWll off a ship. I bought it from a JC trade school, hardly used, tight and accurate, a great lathe. Should have all the electrical supplies here today, and done maybe this weekend....maybe. With the machine shop and a excellent Curtis 7 1/2 air compressor, just have to run the hard pipe.

Cool stuff!! A Monarch and a Bridgeport can get a man to the moon were he so inclined. I would not want to not have a lathe and mill again.

That shop is nice, how high is your ceiling and door opening? I'm still in planning stage, but am definitely installing a 2 post lift
building is 40 X 60, what they call a 12 foot ceiling, but that is measured outside, so the low eave is 10'6'', 12-2 pitch so the Bend Pak 72" lift would fit, and still help with a low ceiling height for winter heating. Use a oil heater running diesel or stove oil with used oil, set on a thermostat. Need a ceiling fan, and have a couple air conditioners I may install. I open the doors when it cools off, and shut them in the morning. Walls R20, Ceiling R30. It has taken me two years to get this far, so by winter I should be set. O-Door is 16 x 10 insulated, steel entry doors, so fairly secure. Concrete has to be engineered, min 3000 concrete. I used 5 1/2 inch 4500 concrete as I work on heavy equipment/farm stuff as well. There is an 18' open area so you can pull up a piece of equipment and work on it outside, I use that the most, wish I had made it an extra 10' longer, but it is great. Do most of my welding, grinding, nasty dirty work out there, then just sweep, pressure wash when done.

That's really nice. Is there any room to park a truck in there?

Yes there is. It's not in the pic. I keep the old truck in there in the winter. I keep the woodstove burning, good place to sip on beverages.

Hard to argue with that! Fact of the matter is were it not for friends, family, and more importantly, those to converse with we would drive fords. Vehiciles are not that important.

To each his own, you can't make a blanket statement like that and expect all to agree!!!!! At least ME anyway!!!!

Unfortunately, I listened to "Get Stupid" a little too much and did just that lol
