Do aftermarket speaker mounts make 6x9's clear the cab?

This is a question for people who bought those aftermarket speaker brackets for the back of the cab. I replaced the factory brackets, which would only fit the old 4x10" size. I'd like to get a good set of 6x9's but the magnet has gotten bigger on those. Especially the good ones. Just wanted to ask if anyone has done it, and if they had any fitment issues. Thank you

Tons of room back there. If you get a set that has the magnet mounted deep enough to hit they're gonna be huge!

Hey guys... what 6×9s will work in the cab corner with the tinworks mounts ? I been told that all of them wouldnt work due to the magnet being too thick. I want to put a good pair of 6×9s un the truck but i want to make sure they wiill work before i purchase a pair.

I don't think my speakers are "huge but the magnet will hit before the speaker is in place.

I bought really good (bigger magnet) Pioneer 4x10s, placed on stock brackets, and they hit our 1984 stock cab sheetmetal. I think I will make two cuts on our cab and roll the inner edges back for clearance.

Those 6x9 aftermarket brackets look like they twist/turn the speakers, just enough, that they clear the cab sheetmetal.

I guess they probably also need a little speaker box to really do their job well. Like you see in some car door speakers. Forget what they call it but affects the sound. Just a bare speaker won't sound as good. All of this might require more fab than I thought. Maybe build the little box to fit the big magnet 6x9, and then modify the cab corner a bit so it fits in there.

Not sure how safe it is to go removing metal in that spot though.

I bought some noise dampening material to peel and stick, and put in that pocket. I have seen a few guys in here stuff insulation material in the cab corner pocket too, right behind the speakers.

I did the peel and stick noise/heat stuff and my 6x9s still sound horrible in there. I am going to - one day - may a box to attach to the metal plates to help. The area is so big the speakers are basically free air and don't react well ro mid/bass notes.

The problem I see, or maybe my worry, is that by putting insulation in there you're going to trap moistire and eventually start rust. We know that was common enough in cab corners and my truck only had a spot of surface rust the size of a quarter inder a piece of spongy noise insulation behind the driver's side fender. I don't want to give it any reason to start somewhere else.
