I had bought one of these years ago-

4XDoctor diff guard

I drive thru deep snow and can't see hidden items that will smack the differentials. Used it for a while then changed to a full aftermarket diff cover (Riddler).

I liked the Riddler covers as they were very "smooth". Bolts were recessed and protected. There are other very similar covers out there.

I thought that the K10 had 12 bolt rear and ten bolt front. Anyway mine does. Diff cover on my d60 is an LPW, not cheap, but that rear is not in my k10.

Yeah it's a 10 bolt dana 44 on the front and the rear is a 12 bolt. I'm going to opt for heavy duty diff covers instead of skid plates

Are you sure it is a Dana, and not a 10 bolt Chevy.? Dana 44 under 3/4 ton, like k20. My k20 is Dana, my k10 is chevy

I just put a dana 44 cover on it and it fit perfectly. Does the chevy 10 bolt have the same cover as dana 44?

Early K10 Squares have a Dana 44 front axle. Later models have the GM corp 10 bolt.

No, the Dana 44 and GM 10 bolt do not take the same cover.

I went with reinforced diff coveres instead of skid plates. The front one is steel and the rear is aluminum with some big fins on it for durability.
