2wd, yes. Not sure about in a shorty though...

That's gotta be a rare breed, lol. I know they put the 6.2 in the half tons. I've seen plenty of blazers and and 4x4s of both box lengths with them, I just had never seen or heard of a short box 2wd diesel before now. The only thing I really wasn't sure about, was what platforms the 350 diesel wound up in. That's one to remember, I guess. I wonder what kind of production numbers the 2wd short diesel saw?

The only 350 Olds Diesels I've seen were long bed 1/2 ton trucks.
I put a good running 350DX from an 85 Delta 88 in an 85 C10 Shorty with a Borg Warner T5.
Didn't get 30mpg like some wild claims... More like 21-23 HWY and 17-19 around town. About the same as my 2000 C2500 6.5L Turbodiesel. 4WD really bites into the fuel mileage in the 76.
The 350DX got much better than the 15mpg max I got from the original 305.

There's an '82 6.2 short bed stepside at a junkyard here in New Orleans. At least that's what the emissions sticker said. There's a complete SBC sitting in it at the moment. Could be a different core support, but this doesn't strike me as one that the PO really cared enough to do that for. Get a load of that front bumper, @Honky Kong jr, will ya?

Last time I saw this truck it had a 100% complete motor, the transmission, the factory radio, cluster, etc. I think their prices are a bit out there on some things. You have to haggle with them if you want a reasonable price. Of course, those things go for a pretty penny on eBay. I’ll probably swing by when the weather clears up.
